THE MILTON KEYNES RALLY---- 29th September 2002

A succesful rally on Sunday 29th September was held on some 500acres made available on the day with one field seeded with token which ther token hunters mades a B line for while other after natural finds spread them selves out over some of the remaining fields which were ploughed and harrowed.

Soon reports of a gold stator and a gold large watch winder started to come in plus Roman bronze coins and by lunch time the finds cabinet had started to fill up.

The afternoon was on another farm a short distance away but only a few of the fields available were detected on.

By 4-30pm everyone started to return for the prizegiving.

Best coin was a Gold Stator found by Adrian Gantzel

Best Artifact was a 1st century belt mount of a boar with enamel still on found by Ian Avey.

The prizes for the token hunt were donated by members of MAGIOVINIVM Milton Keynes Metal Detecting Club,Regton, Whites, Minelab, Coinshooter and Dei Gratia coins and antiquities.
